Here in the Cayman Islands, you generally have two options: sheet metal ducts or fibreglass duct board. At EcoSmart Cooling, we only work with sheet metal, because we feel it’s the best option for you and your family for long term costs, performance, and overall air quality.

Duct board is a fibreglass impregnated board, similar to sheetrock, which is used in the creation of the heating and cooling ducts needed to move air around your home. One of the most important parts of all ducting systems is the ability to move air effectively, without stressing your air conditioning system and ensuring all rooms receive well balanced air. At first glance, duct board looks like it might be a less expensive option, but for overall performance, longevity, and impact on air quality, it doesn’t stand a chance against a quality sheet metal solution.
